Gifts that give back

give back

The holidays are a time for giving. And while we’re fans of giving experiences, there are a few people in our lives that receive tremendous joy from getting a gift (ahem).  This year, we’re choosing gifts that give back to a cause we are passionate about supporting. Here are a few of our favorites.

Mon Amie Watches sells a collection of beautiful watches, each benefiting a different cause. Our pick is the Education watch – a sleek, black, leather watch that provides school supplies for an entire classroom with each purchase. Another great option: The Health watch. It has a pink leather band and supports prenatal care for a women who cannot otherwise afford it.

Patagonia, the outdoor apparel brand that we all know and love, has publicly spoken out against President Trump’s decision to withdraw the protected status of 2 million acres of protected land in Utah. The company is now part of coalition that is suing to block the White House proposal to reduce the boundaries of Bears Ears National Monument. A gift from Patagonia this season supports not only the company but also the important stance they are taking to protect our nation’s public land.

Love Your Melon is a hat company helping to aid the fight against pediatric cancer. 50% of their total profits go towards funding research and helping the families of children battling cancer. Their products include a variety of beautifully knit beanies, headbands and scarves. Our favorite pick is the White Speckled Pom Beanie in Natural – a cute, beige beanie with a furry pom-pom on the top.

Pura Vida is a bracelet company started by two friends while on a trip in Costa Rica. The beautiful bracelets provide full time jobs to artisans who would otherwise be living in poverty. A portion of the proceeds from their charity collection is donated to over 190 different charities supporting a variety of causes, including endangered species, cancer and mental health. They have donated almost 1 million dollars to date. The name of each bracelet corresponds with the charity it benefits. One of our favorites is the B.E.A.C.H Braided, a bracelet which donates to a charity that brings awareness and solutions to the problem of marine debris.

FEED is a brand that sells bags, clutches, wine bags, jewelry, apparel and more. The company was founded in an effort to help engage people in the fight against hunger in a tangible way. Each time you purchase a product, you’re provided with a stamp card which shows how many school meals were donated as a result of your sale. This clutch is our favorite- it provides 50 school lunches!

Hand in Hand soap sells vegan, sustainable, palm oil-free soaps, fragrances, lotions and scrubs. All of their products and packaging are 100 percent recyclable. Hand in Hand soap works with world-wide child advocacy organization, My Neighbors Children, donating clean water solutions to Haiti. Our favorite gift is the Lavender Ultimate Skin Essentials Set, which comes in a cute bag with a card.

Bird + Stone is a jewelry company committed to using upcycled materials and donating to causes supporting poverty, climate, girl’s education and women’s health. The company believes in transparency so they tell you what percentage of your purchase price is being donated in the product description.
